Does my talent need to be a "stage" talent such as singing, dancing, or playing an instrument?

Absolutely not! Our team has seen talents ranging from speed painting, to softball players breaking plates, to hula hooping, to piano playing, comedy, a speech, spoken word, dancing, or playing an instrument. Miss America 2023, Madison Marsh, won doing a monologue onstage. Past Miss Americas have won doing science experiments, singing accompanied by cups, and our Miss Illinois 2023, Jessica Tilton, had a colorguard talent! The possibilities are endless!

Due to space, only our delegates and volunteer staff may be backstage.

We ask our delegates to do their own makeup and encourage you to practice beforehand!

Where do I start?

Get registered! Afterwards, visit our paperwork page and get started on those requirements. We have the forms listed, but please contact us with any questions you have.

** Any full length evening gown is permissible. Many individuals have purchased gowns that are thrifted, second-hand, or even borrowed a gown from a friend! The most important thing is for you to feel confident onstage in your evening wear. Do whatever is best for you and your budget! **
